Christopher Hall’s Leicester Square Questionnaire

15 Sep 2023

Following a sold-out Edinburgh Fringe run, social media sensation Christopher Hall brings his show Self Helpless to Leicester Square Theatre, in which he wades sarcastically through his experience navigating millennial-dom.

With TikTok and Instagram sketches racking up over fifty million views, spawning collaborations with the Jonas Brothers and Gwen Stefani, he gave us a moment of his time to talk about some pressing topics…

What’s your most memorable heckle?
Someone offered to ‘suck me dead’, which was an interesting one. I thought how have we gotten from Hocus Pocus, to here?

What’s one word to describe the state of the UK?
Facepalm.

Who’s the best upcoming performer in the country that we haven’t heard of?
Amy Webber, she’s magic!

Who would you describe as your arch-nemesis?
The guy who chooses my targeted ads, you don’t know me…

How do you like to relax after a gig?
I wish it was journal and meditate but it’s definitely reality TV bingeing and a whiskey.

What’s the one thing you want the audience to take away from your show?
I hope everyone has as much fun as I do doing it. I feel I touch on a couple of themes that are quite vulnerable or personal that previous audience members have said they really relate to. We’re all just trying our best in this world, and if I’m okay with being a bit of a mess on stage, then hopefully you can make peace with being a bit of mess in your own life, we’re all in this together.

Would you rather have fingers as long as your legs or legs as long as your fingers?
It’s gotta be leg long fingers, surely they could help fight crime…in some way…somehow…right?
